It started in 1929 when the Harveys of the peaceful North Glade Cove first planted potatoes on their fertile farmland. The land provided most everything. As Bob Harvey said, "the exterior of the farmhouse was built with the fieldstone from the property". Two generations of Harveys raised their families in this three level homestead overlooking a tranquil 3 acre pond and 200 acres of one of Deep Creek Lake's finest locations.
The 200 acres was a challenging endeavor for local developers Mike and Lisa Goodfellow and Hugh Umbel. To imagine what this unique piece of land could evolve into required extensive research on what today's family looks for. Deep Creek Lake vacation home owners, rental investors, year-round and retirement home seekers from the metropolitan areas of Washington DC, Virginia, Greater Baltimore, Pittsburgh and West Virginia look for the freedom of space and fresh air combined with recreation. In 2001, the developers selected a style of planning that dedicated 25% of the land area to green space. Hence the birth of the neighborhood Par 3 Nine Hole Golf Course (longest hole of 181 yards).

Opened in 2003 and designed by Ault, Clark & Associates, the Par 3 Golf Course with it's professionally sculpted greens and painstakingly maintained 'links style' fairways and grassy roughs provides beauty and entertainment.
For the enthusiasts and low handicap golfers, the Par 3 course enhances the 'short game'--that highly skilled aspect of the golf game that is responsible for achieving lower scores. For the novice or casual golfer, it is a great place to bring family and friends for an afternoon of outdoor fun. The design provided 2 sets (A & B) of tees, so a second round can have a distinctly different approach.
A well appointed Clubhouse with wireless internet and game tables opened in 2005. A Real Estate office branch is maintained in the Clubhouse, as well as a Waterfront Greens and Garrett County information area and the Waterfront Greens Property Manager's office.
